Is there financial help for home modifications in Chester County?
Chester County's original Whole Home Repairs announcement described awards below $25,000 for eligible repairs. That historical limit is not an available award promise. The county's October 22, 2026 update says the program concludes December 31, 2026 and demand exceeded capacity. It identifies Good Works, Habitat for Humanity of Chester County, Good Neighbors Home Repair and the Housing Partnership of Chester County as repair resources. Confirm actual availability, eligibility and terms before including assistance in the budget.
The Department of Aging Services can be a starting point for older residents' support. Qualifying veterans may explore VA housing-adaptation grants, and a tax professional can assess whether medically necessary changes are relevant under IRS Publication 502.
