FAQ
What aging-in-place provisions can be considered during a planned remodel?
Discuss future support-bar backing, shower entry, doorways and circulation, lever hardware, reachable controls, lighting, electrical capacity and suitable first-floor sleeping and full bathing while related rooms are being planned. The right provisions depend on users, existing construction and the agreed scope; adding every feature now is not automatically less expensive.
A nominal 36-inch doorway example is not the same as actual usable clear opening or a universal design specification. A future elevator space also needs device-specific structural, landing, services and circulation planning with the appropriate specialist. NK can compare suitable provisions within kitchen, bathroom or whole-home work; any future use, equipment fit and required approvals remain to be established.
