Can I use my home's only bathroom during remodeling?

Do not assume a bathroom remains usable throughout a remodel. Discuss toilet, bathing and handwashing needs before agreeing to the construction sequence. Demolition, plumbing, waterproofing and other work can require periods when part or all of the room is unavailable. The actual scope determines those intervals.

Where the house and scope allow, building another bathroom before taking the existing one out of service may be considered. Otherwise, agree a practical temporary arrangement, nearby facilities or time away with NK before work begins, taking the household's needs into account. Temporary fixtures or uninterrupted access are not automatic inclusions; confirm responsibilities, timing and costs in the agreed plan.
