FAQ

What does NK's Home Safety & Longevity Assessment include?

General guidance

NK's Home Safety & Longevity Assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of how your home supports everyday living and how it could be adapted to meet changing needs.

The assessment includes a room-by-room walkthrough, measurements of doorways, thresholds, steps, hallways and circulation spaces, and a review of bathrooms, stairs, lighting and visible structural conditions.

Following the assessment, NK prepares a written report identifying priority improvements, longer-term adaptations, potential remodeling alternatives, preliminary budget ranges and opportunities to complete the work in phases.

The assessment also identifies where additional input from an architect, structural engineer, lift specialist or your occupational or physical therapist may be appropriate.

Unlike a standard remodeling estimate, this assessment evaluates the home more comprehensively, helping establish priorities, compare alternatives and develop a reliable basis for future project planning and budgeting.

The assessment's scope, deliverables and any applicable fee are confirmed before the visit. Detailed engineering investigations, specialist evaluations and permit drawings are separate services where required.
